Italy

I am an Italian soprano, composer, stage director, voice teacher and vocal coach, currently based again in her native Puglia (where I was born in 1981, and raised till age eighteen).
I hold a degree in Composition and one in Voice/Opera Performance, and I received my education mainly from the Conservatorio di Bologna, city where I also trained as a stage director at the Scuola dell'Opera Italiana del Teatro Comunale.
I am a pioneer of what I call interpretative lyric diction and the author of the book "Cantare Italiano - The Language of Opera" (published in 2019 by the prestigious Rugginenti/Volonté&Co. in Milano; English edition published in 2020), which stands as the first Italian born manual ever written on the topic of Italian lyric diction.
Since December 2022 I have been teaching Poesia per Musica & Drammaturgia Musicale in Italian Conservatories.
From 2018 to 2024 I've been teaching the same matter, but technically connected to the Prosody and Diction of Italian Belcanto, to the young artists of the the Accademia del Belcanto Rodolfo Celletti in Martina Franca (IT) - Accademia di Eccellenza Nazionale per l'Altissima Formazione Musicale.
A private voice teacher for over two decades (2003-2026), throughout the most recent years I have coached - amongst hunreds of singers of any background, career stage and nationality - also international stars and rising stars, such as Barbara Hannigan, Jennifer Rowley, Ida Falk Winland, Christopher Sokolowski, Libby Sokolowski, Diana Lamar, Peter Tantsits, Paul Nilon, among many others, for their debuts in Italian roles on the stages of the leading Opera houses, under conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Simon Rattle, Antonio Pappano, Fabio Luisi, Tito Ceccherini, Giancarlo Andretta, Marco Armiliato, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Lawrence Cummings.
I have been Italian coach and Libretto Instructor for Göteborgs Operan (2016), where I have worked side by side with sir Graham Vick, and Opera North (Leeds, UK).
